Things to know

Gold Plated

Gold-plated jewelry refers to items that have a thin layer of gold applied over a base metal, such as brass or silver.Because the layer of gold is so thin, gold-plated jewelry is more susceptible to wear over time. Exposure to body oils, and chemicals can cause the gold layer to wear off, revealing the base metal underneath. To prolong the life of gold-plated jewelry store it properly, minimize exposure to chemicals, clean it gently, and avoid excessive wear or exposure to moisture and heat.

Gold Filled

Gold-filled jewelry is a type of jewelry made by bonding a layer of gold to a base metal, usually brass. Gold-filled items have a thicker layer of gold compared to gold plated. Because of the substantial layer of gold, gold-filled jewelry is more durable than gold-plated items.

It can withstand everyday wear and tear better than gold plating.

Gold Vermeil

Gold vermeil is a legally regulated term that refers to jewelry with a sterling silver base metal and a layer of gold plating that is at least 2.5 microns thick. Gold vermeil is superior to gold plated jewelry in terms of longevity and quality!

Gold vermeil is ideal for gold lovers who like to wear their jewelry in the shower or ocean.

Care Instructions

We always recommend anything that is not solid gold to avoid liquids, perfumes, harsh chemicals and lotions. Don’t worry our beautiful pieces will hold up to the elements of daily life, but remember they are NOT SOLID GOLD!

We want our products to work for you, not the other way around! To maintain that it is important to keep your jewelry clean! Without doing so, your pieces can become temporarily darkened due to buildup. To clean use a soft cloth or microfiber towel to wipe away dirt and oil buildup after use. We always want you to shine goldies, but without proper care there is always a higher risk of fading or buildup!
